bradfordThe Bradford School District will be holding registration for all district students preschool through eighth grade on Thursday, August 5 from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, August 6 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.  A few changes in school policy will affect students this year including an increase in lunch prices to $1.25 for K through fifth grade and $1.50 for junior high students sixth through eighth.  Breakfast fees remain the same at $.75.
Changes for the dress code will be observed for the 2010-2011 school year.  Students with two or more dress code infractions will result in a detention every time after the warning.   There will be no loungewear or slippers worn at school or any clothing that has holes or looks shredded.  In addition, if a student wears leggings, any shorts or skirts worn with the leggings must be no less than three inches above the knee.  These are the additional changes that Bradford School District has implemented for the new school year.  For a copy of the complete dress code, please contact the Bradford School office.
The Bradford board will be holding a budget hearing before their next regular meeting at 7 p.m. on August 13.  The board also approved a charge for requested transcripts.  Mailed transcripts will cost $3.50 a piece and those that are picked up at the office are $3 a piece.  The school district has seven days to prepare transcripts for mailing or pickup.
The board decided to not sponsor a foreign exchange student for the next school year due to the economic status of the district.
The board is also considering placing old Bradford High school trophies, sport awards and high school uniforms in a silent auction over Labor Day weekend. More details will be released at a later date.
The next regular board meeting will be on August 17 at 7 p.m.
