LaHood appointed to fill Risinger’s seat in Illinois Senate

New 37th District State Senator Darin LaHood (R-Peoria) will be sworn in Tuesday morning, March 1, at the Peoria County Courthouse, by Tenth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Stephen Kouri. LaHood was selected Saturday by the Republican county chairmen from the seven counties in the 37th District to replace Sen. Dale Risinger, who retired earlier this month.
Risinger will also attend the swearing-in ceremony, which will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday in room 309 at the Courthouse, 324 Main Street, Peoria.
Following the swearing-in, LaHood will immediately travel to Springfield, where the Illinois Senate is scheduled to be in session later that day.
LaHood is a former federal prosecutor and is currently an attorney with the Peoria law firm of Miller, Hall & Triggs. He and his wife, Kristen, have three children, McKay, Lucas and Teddy.
