Accidents
4-5-11 – A single vehicle accident occurred along 950 E approximately one half mile south of 1250 N. Driver, Audrey L. Johnson, 48, of rural Toulon, reported that she lost control of her vehicle trying to avoid a deer and slid into the ditch and rolled. There were no injuries reported or citations issued, but the vehicle did sustain over $1,500 in damages.
4-16-11 – A deer related vehicle accident occurred along Route 78. The driver involved was identified as Cheryl K. Dearing, 50, of Kewanee. There were no injuries reported or citations issued, but the vehicle did sustain between $500 and $1,500 in estimated damages.
4-22-11 – A deer related vehicle accident occurred along Route 17 just east of LaFayette. Driver, Russell C. Schierer, 65, of LaFayette, was traveling west when a deer ran out in front of the oncoming vehicle. There were no injuries reported, but damages were estimated over $1,500.
Incidents
4-16-11 – A domestic problem was handled in the 300 block of South Miller Street.
4-18-11 – An employee at Rumbold & Kuhn Grain Elevator in Toulon reported a possible theft when two padlocks were found cut off from the buildings that had been secured. The incident remains under investigation.
4-18-11 – Tim Gibson, of Wyoming, reported that he had a padlock cut off from his service trailer that had been parked at Rumbold & Kuhn Grain Elevator in Toulon.
4-19-11 – Shane M. Feik, 33, of Brimfield, turned himself in to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office on a pending Will County warrant. He posted $500 cash bond and was released with a new court date.
4-19-11 – Dawn M. Ryan, 54, of Bradford, reported criminal damage to property, after discovering evidence of where an unidentified vehicle driver had damaged approximately 50 feet of her wrought iron fence. The incident remains under investigation.
4-21-11 – A 16-year-old Dunlap girl was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. She was later released to a parent with a notice to appear in court.
4-21-11 – A 13–year-old Wyoming boy was arrested for criminal damage to property. The minor was also wanted on a Warren County warrant for crimes against a person. He was taken into custody by Stark County Sheriff’s office and later extradited by Warren County and taken to the Mary Davis Home in Galesburg.
4-23-11 – A domestic problem was handled in the 200 block of East Vine Street in Toulon.
