Toulon changes agenda, may make cemetery rules

toulonThe Toulon City Council will now address the police issue and be prepared to vote on any matter arising from that discussion at their council meeting on Monday night.

The situation came about after alderman Misty Turnbull of the second ward requested the issue of police be included on the agenda, but that request was denied by Mayor Rick Collins.

 

According to the city attorney Bruce Fehrenbacher, if three council members requested it, Collins could be overruled and that is what occurred Thursday afternoon.

 

Bradford Village Trustee resigns

bradfordVillage President Adam Wilson read a brief statement at the August 29 Village meeting concerning the resignation of Trustee Nick Johnson. The board accepted a letter of resignation from Johnson due to the reason of relocating outside of Bradford and personal reasons. The effective date of the resignation was August 28.

'Pillowcase Bandits' strike again in SC

Stark County officials are confirming two robberies have occurred over the weekend in the West Jersey area.

Sheriff Jimmie Dison stated both homeowners were gone over the weekend and arrived home to find their locked doors broken into.

“Somehow they are ascertaining the homeowners aren’t home, probably by acting like they are selling something and waiting for nobody to answer,” said Dison.

Bradford Trustee appointment tabled

bradfordThe Bradford Village board conducted its monthly meeting August 6 and after discussing the appointment to complete Corey Moodie’s term, no action was taken. There are two  candidates vying for the position of trustee. The board decided to table this agenda item until further conversations with the candidates by the appointment committee can be conducted.
The board has set August 22 as the date this year that the Bradford pool will close. With the commencement of schools at that time and unavailability of lifeguards, the board decided use of the pool would decrease dramatically.

LaFayette appoints new Village Trustee

lafayetteThe LaFayette Village board opened their monthly meeting with the appointment of a new trustee to the board. Rebecca Dalrymple was sworn in to complete the term of Marsha Norberg who resigned in July due to personal reasons.
Ms. Dalrymple quickly participated in the remaining agenda items and added input to several discussions of topics. With her appointment, the Village board now has a full complement of trustees once more.
