Maryland - William Frederick Collins, Jr. 92, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Julia Manor Health Care Center.
He was born on Wednesday, March 26, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late William Frederick Collins Sr. and the late Helen Higgins Collins.
He attended Lane Technical High School in Chicago. He was employed as Chief Engineer at International Harvester Company for many years and later was the owner of Collins Implement Co. Bill was the holder of 48 patents with IHC for farm machinery. He was an avid golfer with several hole-in-ones at Midland Country Club.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Norma Aguglia Collins, daughters, Carolyn Gonzales & husband Jorge of St. Louis, Missouri, Cathleen Cervin and husband Javier of San Diego, California, and Constance Eggert and husband Bill of Phoenix, Arizona, sons, William Collins III and wife Jennifer of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, Ronald Collins and wife Luci of Denver, Colorado, Roger Collins and wife Ellen of Hagerstown, Maryland, Richard Collins and wife Barbara of Toulon, Illinois, Norman Collins and wife Cindy of Phoenix, Arizona, and Nicolas Collins of Phoenix, Arizona, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond, Edward, and Donald Collins.
Services will be held privately with the family.
