Toulon – Dorothy R. Shinn, of Toulon, Illinois, formerly of Bloomington, Illinois, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2011, at Toulon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

Dorothy was born February 1, 1921, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Herb and Myrtle Walker.  She married Robert Shinn on January 2, 1943, in Champaign, Illinois.  He died May 30, 2006.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother and two sisters.

Surviving are two nephews and one niece.

Dorothy was an executive secretary at Eureka & Company in Bloomington for 36 years, retiring in 1986.  She loved to play golf and enjoyed reading.  Dorothy was a member of St. Luke Union Church in Bloomington.

Cremation has been accorded and private graveside service will be held at Toulon Cemetery at a later date.  Rev. Wayne McLeod will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Toulon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.  Toulon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
