The Stark County Lady Rebels successfully defeated Wethersfield 50-48 last Thursday night to advance to the championship game of the LTC tournament.
That bid paired them against Annawan, the number one seed in the tournament and number two in the state. Stark County had fallen to the Lady Bravettes on Jan. 7, 57-37 at their place in conference play.
Neither team was hitting the same shots this go-around. Stark County was attempting to force the ball inside, but again had troubles getting past the long arms of Annawan.

While the thought of being one game away from State two straight years in a row and loosing can be tough on the players and fans, the success of their season should instead shine brighter.
“If you would’ve told us in August we’d be playing in the semifinals with a chance to go to state with as many people as we lost, we’d probably be pretty pleased with that season, but when you get here, this close, you still want to win that game,” said Head Coach Jade Noard after the 51-14 loss to Stockton.
The Rebels simply did not match the power and size of Stockton who had their way all afternoon with Stark County.
Stockton’s first drive ended well for the Rebels as they held strong on a fourth down and one, taking over possession at the Stark County 13.
