Wyoming meter project winding down

wyomingLast Tuesday, March 8, the Wyoming City Council met for its regular March meeting.  Milo Streitmatter presented the City with a Proclamation of Appreciation for the City of Wyoming and it’s residents for the support of the Red Cross.  March is national Red Cross month.
Dennis Rewerts gave a brief update of Economic Development activities, including a video of Stark County to be used as a promotion for various events in Stark County.
David Wright of Christopher Burke Engineering gave his monthly report on city projects.  The new meter installation program is to be completed in a couple of weeks.  For those residents that do not yet have a new meter installed, please do so immediately or possibly face water shut off.
A discussion was held regarding readjusting the new handrails on Williams Street near City Hall.  Investigation of possible changes will be made and presented to the council next month.  The light contractor is to be contacted regarding possible concrete repairs on the south side of Williams Street.
Police Chief Sloan reported that he and Mayor Pat Maher, will be attending the Candlelight Vigil in Washington D.C. honoring the late Bill Bauer as former police chief.  This is an annual event held on May 13-24th each year.  Steve and Pat will be there only one day.
The new downtown clock is coming in earlier than originally believed.  The clock could be here around April 1, 2011.  David Wright will investigate the location for pre-planned wiring to confirm it is in proper location for sidewalk usage.  David is donating his time for the important project.  Installation may be delayed during this investigation.
