Peve resigns as LaFayette village president at meeting

Carl Peve, 95, resigned Monday evening as village president of LaFayette.
“I just got tired of some of the trustees arguing and growling at me,” Peve told The News. “I told one of the trustees to go jump in a lake.”
Peve has served four years as mayor and in the 1980s he had an earlier four-year term as mayor.
Trustee Greg Bartley has been appointed village president pro tem and he will serve until the November 2012 elections, according to Peve.
