Parkinson’s Support Group to Meet March 15

Kewanee – OSF HealthCare Saint Luke Medical Center Rehabilitation Services Department is pleased to invite those affected by Parkinson’s Disease to the Parkinson’s Support Group.
The monthly support group will meet on Thursday, March 15 at 5:00 p.m. in the East Conference Room at OSF Saint Luke. The meeting will be hosted by Brea Cinnamon, DPT, Physical Therapist and Lisa Salisbury, MS CCC-SLP, Speech Language Pathologist.
Melissa Glass, Advanced Practice Nurse from OSF Illinois Neurological Institute will present on current treatment options for Parkinson’s Disease, the Duopa treatment, and recent Parkinson’s Disease research topics. Time will also be available for questions following her presentation.
“Melissa’s presentation is exactly the reason we offer a Parkinson’s Support Group at OSF Saint Luke. Our goal is to provide education, knowledge and hope for those impacted by Parkinson’s Disease. All are welcome to this informative presentation,” stated Cinnamon.
Parkinson’s Disease currently affects 1 million people in the United States, with approximately 60,000 new cases diagnosed each year. Patients with Parkinson’s Disease and their caregivers are often faced with physical, medical and emotional challenges throughout the management of their healthcare needs.
