What is the best way to wind down before bedtime? You need to create a quiet space where you can calm your nerves and relax. There are benefits of reading before bed. Various studies reveal that cracking open a book before you go to bed could help combat insomnia. Reading can clear the mind and ready the body for sleep.
Other possible positive results attributed to reading include: improving creativity, improving concentration, and creating for yourself a feeling of peace and serenity.
The Bradford Library hosts a Book Club which meets the third Monday of each month at 5 p.m. The Book Club is entering their 12th year with 15 members. Last month they read Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. They are currently reading Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. Next month is A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles.
There is also a Breakfast Club for adult readers who meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 8:30 a.m. They read a short story together and discuss it. Of course, there is a pot of coffee on and a little breakfast is available.
In addition don’t forget that the Bradford Library is the only place to get new release (or any other) movies in Bradford and they are free – unless, of course you return them late. Movies are checked out for 1 week and you can check out 5 at a time.
The Bradford Library is open Monday – Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. You can find more information on the Bradford Library at their web site http://www.bpld.org , by calling the library at 897-8400, emailing at [email protected] or on Facebook at Bradford Public Library District
So… stop by the library, check out a good book, read, and improve your sleep.
