SWCD fourth grade conservation poster contest

Stark County,
Mrs. Pinkston’s Class: 1st Place – Aidan Unhold, 2nd Place – Addison Down,
3rd Place – Paytin Terwilliger,
Honorable Mention – Hailey Allen.

The Stark County Soil and Water Conservation District held the annual 4th Grade Conservation Poster Contest. The contest theme for this year was “Watersheds: Our Water, Our Home,” and the theme needed to be incorporated into the posters. Students’ posters contained many creative ideas related to how the importance of water and watersheds.

Mr. Wallace’s Class:
1st Place – Ashley Stahl, 2nd Place – Kaydance Batey, 3rd Place – Owen Mercer, Honorable Mention – Lilly Harmon.

Bradford, Ms. Yarger’s Class:
1st Place – Clara Verway, 2nd Place – Riggens Shafer, 3rd Place – Sean Kendall,
Honorable Mention – Rosy Winter Krider.

The first prize winners from each class were awarded a conservation medal. Ribbons were awarded to the top three winners and honorable mentions from each classroom.  All 4th grade students participated in pizza parties. Pictured are this year’s poster winners from Bradford and Stark County Elementary Schools.

The Stark County SWCD congratulates all 2018 Conservation Poster Contest winners. A special congratulation goes to Aidan Unhold. Aidan’s poster will advance to the Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation District’s Auxiliary Poster Contest in July. Aiden is the son of Ernie and Stacy Unhold, of Wyoming.
