Polay plays Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, Gershwin May 6 in Toulon

Bruce Polay

Bruce Polay presents a program of enchanting piano favorites on Sunday, May 6 at 3 p.m. at the News Room Bistro on Main Street in Toulon.

The program includes the Appassionato by Beethoven; an impromptu by Chopin; “The Man I Love” and “Nobody but You” by George Gershwin, plus pieces by Liszt, Albeniz, Ravel and Debussy.

Admission is only $5 and students of all ages plus members of the Stark County Fine Arts Network are invited at no charge.

There will be complimentary sweets, wine and coffee at half-time.

This will be the final program by Bruce Polay in his role as professor of music at Knox College and conductor of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony, as Bruce is retiring at the end of the year.

We are hoping Bruce will continue to put together chamber music programs of the highest quality for us into the future.

So, I am hoping for a pack-the-place audience May 6 to show our appreciation to Bruce and encourage a continuation of the 15 years or so of fine musical programs in Stark County.
