Trio of softball Scots earn All Conference status

A trio of Fighting Scots have been awarded All-Midwest Conference status in a vote of the league’s coaches. Monmouth’s record-setting pitcher Liz Hippen (Toulon, Ill./Stark County), outfielder Laura Dulee (Bloomington, Ill./U-High) and second baseman Darcy Kepner (Walnut, Ill./Bureau Valley) were all named to the second team.

A senior, Hippen earned her fourth all-league award. Named the Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore, Hippen ended her final campaign with a career-low 1.53 ERA. Opponents hit just .205 against Hippen who fanned 141 while pitching more than 132 innings in 2018. At the plate, Hippen hit at a .273 clip with seven RBIs. The Fighting Scots’ ace set numerous career records in her four seasons in the circle, including strikeouts (529) and wins (45).
A biopsychology major, Hippen is the daughter of Jarrod and Kristi Hippen.
