Peoria – Marilyn Jean Bevan, 84, of Safety Harbor, Florida, was born in Kewanee, Illinois, on September 23, 1933, to Floyd and Dorothy (Adkins) Lord. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Regency Oaks in Clearwater, Florida.
Marilyn was raised on a farm near Bradford, Illinois. She was the salutatorian of the Bradford High School, Class of 1951, and graduated Browns Business College in Peoria, Illinois. She relocated to Florida, where she lived for the remainder of her life. Marilyn was a registered nurse for three decades, serving most of that time at Morton Plant Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edward Bevan; son, James Bevan (Judy), of Safety Harbor, Florida; daughter, Melanie (Nickole Bozeman), of Bradenton, Florida; grandsons, Seely and Sergie; brother, Farrell Lord (Lynn), of Metamora, Illinois; and nieces, Julie Robinson, Jill Lord-Shelby and Jessica Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant son, John.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be a private family service to spread her ashes in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, where she loved to hike and spend her time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760, in her honor.
