Incidents & Accidents
2-15-19 – A single vehicle accident occurred on Route 17 at the intersection of 1500E. Driver Samantha A. Nowotnik, 28, of Metamora, was traveling west on the highway when she lost control of her vehicle on a patch of ice. The vehicle hit the guardrail on the right side before returning back onto the road where it crossed both lanes of traffic and hit the guardrail on the opposite side of the road. No injuries were reported but the vehicle sustained over $1,500 in damages. No tickets were issued.
2-11-19 – An employee from the Toulon Casey’s General Store reported criminal damage to property after a gas pump was damaged by a customer.
2-11-19 – A burglary was reported by a customer whom had rented a storage unit located west of Toulon. Items were reported missing and the incident remains under investigation.
2-14-19 – James D. Stutler, 34, of Kewanee, reported a burglary of his storage unit located west of Toulon. Several items were reported missing including a television and several DVDs.
2-16-19 – Donald L. Barks, III, 36, Wyoming, was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon. He posted $150 cash bond and was released with a court date to appear.
2-16-19 – Carmon J. Castillo, 35, Geneseo, was arrested on a Stark County warrant for two counts of unlawful possession of a vehicle. He was also found wanted on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on the original charges including obstruction of justice, three counts of theft, home invasion, criminal trespass, aggravated battery, and possession of meth. His cash bond was set at $100 in Stark County and $1,000 in Henry County. Unable to post bond he remains in custody at the Stark County jail.
2-16-19 – Sarah C. Bostic, 30, Fulton, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for retail theft. Her cash bond was set at $300. She was unable to post bond and remains in the Stark County jail awaiting to be extradicted to the Henry County jail.
