Local Memorial Day services abound

Local communities have scheduled several services for Memorial Day on Monday, May 27.

Wyoming will see its activities commence at 8:30 a.m. in Snareville Cemetery, finishing with services at Wyoming City Cemetery at 11 a.m.

Toulon services will begin at 8 a.m. in Starwano cemetery, working their way through Stringtown, West Jersey and Elmira, before concluding with a parade to Toulon Cemetery that will start assembling in town at 10:30 a.m.

Services in Bradford begin in Elsie Drawyer Hodges Park at 10 a.m. before a march to the Cemetery, and will be followed by a potluck at the Bradford American Legion.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend Elmira Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m.. The church will be hosting a procession to Elmira Cemetery followed by honorary services.

Galva’s festivities start with the set up of the Avenue of Flags at 6 a.m., continuing on to Bishop Hill, Galva Cemetery, St. John’s Cemetery and finishing at LaFayette Cemetery at 11 a.m.
