Thomas L. Browning

WYOMING – Thomas L. Browning, 77, of Wyoming, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2019, at his home.

Thomas was born on Jan. 13, 1942, in Calhoun County, Ala., the son of Milton and Bonnie M. (Miller) Browning. He married Sandra Updyke on Oct. 15, 1966, in Ft. Holabird, Md.; she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Dustin (Tammy) Browning of Wyoming and Richard Darwin of Moss Point, Miss.; one daughter, Kristin (Tim) Viggers of Metamora; six grandchildren, Payton, Brett, and Ben Browning and Josh, Jacob, and Morgan Viggers; and one brother, James (Judy) Browning of Madison, Miss. He was a father figure to Cathy (Rod) Stahl of Brimfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jimmy and Charles Browning.

Thomas served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and retired after 20 years on June 30, 1982. He was a member of the Wyoming American Legion Post #91. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, watching NASCAR and going for car rides through the countryside.

His memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Haskell Funeral & Cremation Services in Wyoming. Rev. Rebecca Klemm will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
