Carolyn J. Hall

Bradford – Carolyn Joy Hall, 98, of Bradford, Illinois, died at 12:40 a.m. on January 9, 2013 at Toulon Health Care, Toulon, Illinois. She was born on September 24, 1914 in Jefferson County, Indiana to Frank and Daisy (Wilson) Taff. She married Glenn Merle Hall of Bradford, Illinois on August 2, 1952. He died on November 3, 2006.
Surviving are, a son, Merle (Sharon) Hall of Bradford, Illinois; three grandchildren, Lisa & Jonathan Hall, of Bradford, Michelle (Tim) Schroeder of Toulon; a sister-in-law Genevieve Smith of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Eugene and Virgil Taff; a sister, Kathryn Taff; a half brother Charles Schneman; a half sister, Frances Schneman.
Carolyn was a graduate of Bradford High School. She worked as a housekeeper for many years and as a homemaker and farmer’s wife, she raised chickens and sold eggs for years. She enjoyed visiting with her egg customers. She was a member of Leet United Methodist Church in Bradford.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Henry Hein officiated. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 13 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Greg Smith, Rick Smith, Bryan Scott, Phil Shaner, Tim Schroeder and Jonathan Hall. Memorials may be directed to Bradford Rescue Squad.
