Three men were arrested last week on suspicion of committing burglaries in at least a three county area: Stark, Henry and Bureau. The arrests follow the recent break-ins of vehicles, which occurred last week in LaFayette.
Bo and Brock Jeffery, no address listed, are in custody at the Henry County jail since August 14 and Dallas Duckworth, of Wyanet, IL is in custody at the Bureau County jail via a Henry County arrest warrant. All are in custody in connection to the recent rash of burglaries that have occurred in LaFayette, Galva and several other communities around the three counties.
The Jeffrey brothers have been indicted on Henry County counts of a Class 3 theft charge and a Class A misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia for Bo and for Brock a Class 3 theft charge, a Class 4 manufacturing/delivery of cannabis charge, and a Class A misdemeanor charge of drug paraphernalia possession. Duckworth has been charged with two Class 2 burglary counts in Bureau County.
A Class 3 count is punishable by 2 to 5 years in prison, A Class 4 felony by 1 to 3 years in prison, and a Class 2 count 3 to 7 years in prison if they are found guilty of the alleged charges. Each felony carries a $25,000 fine, while the misdemeanor charge is punishable by one year in county jail and a $2,500 fine.
The three individuals are beginning the preliminary court appearance process as of this week. Duckworth has pled “not guilty” to his charge of burglary, while the Jeffrey brothers are awaiting their chance to plead at a later date.
Stark County Detective Michael Leighton, of the Stark County Sheriff’s department, has interviewed Duckworth and stated, “We are just now in the preliminary stages of investigation of the burglaries that occurred in LaFayette.” No other details of the investigation were available presently.
Duckworth was on four years of probation for a January 12 burglary this year in Stark County at the time of his arrest last week. He had broken into his grandparents building in Bradford last year and removed a safe containing no valuable assets.
The Jeffrey brothers remain in Henry County jail custody under a $100,000 bond, for each, while Duckworth remains in Bureau County jail under a $20,000 bond.
