A resolution to purchase a snowplow for the Village of LaFayette was passed Tuesday evening, September 16 by the board of trustees.
In a special meeting held, President Greg Bartley read the resolution as follows: “Resolution to purchase truck snowplow and borrow funds from The State Bank of Toulon for such purchase.
“Whereas, a new truck snowplow needed was necessary for the operation of the Village of LaFayette. Be it resolved to purchase a motor vehicle described as a 2007 GMC Sierra K2500 Heavy Duty from Yemm Chevrolet for the purchase price of $19,500.
“The Village of LaFayette will make a down payment of $9,000 and such funds will come from the Illinois Funds General Funds Pool Account.
“The remainder of the funds, $10,792 will be obtained from a loan from The State Bank of Toulon at an interest rate of 3 ½% for 36 months.”
Trustees Florence Preston, Becky Dalrymple, Richard Shipman, and Jeff O’Bryant voted unanimously to adopt the resolution. Trustees Larry Townsend and Vicki McRell were absent.
With no further agenda items to be acted upon, the meeting was adjourned.
