The Stark County Board held a special meting on September 23rd to vote on a resolution waiving commercial building permit fees.
The resolution waives the fees for a six month period for any business that “provides full-time employment for not less than ten individuals.”
Although not specifically stated, currently the waiver would only apply to the new Green Gables building located in Bradford. Ground broke on that project late last week.
The board says that resolution could apply to anyone who wants to bring a business to Stark County, not just Green Gables.
Board member Thomas Schwerbrock stated he would like to see some sort of permanent incentive for businesses.
The board also held an executive session to discuss employee salaries with no action.
