Lions Dan Krans and Jim Graves, both of Toulon, were named Lions of the Year for the Toulon Club at the March District 1-H Covention held in Galesburg. These two Lions have not only held offices, but have pioneered much of the leg work with the successful pork chop fundraisers held over the years and have been significant participants in most activities.
Lion Dan was later awarded his 25 year membership pin at the meeting held April 12 at the 111 Coffee dinner meeting. School Nurse Cheryl Daum gave an informational and entertaining program on serving the schools since 2001. The district employs four part time nurses to meet the medical and emergency needs of the school, diabetes monitoring, medications, allergies and needed emotional and health support including records review and drug testing.
