Senior Day July 14 at Marshall-Putnam Fair

The Marshall-Putnam Fair will host its “Salute to Seniors” at the fairgrounds in Henry, on Thursday, July 14, co-sponsored by Hosts Scott Shore and Judge Mike McCuskey, and by the Rotary Clubs of Putnam County, Henry and Lacon.

The doors to the Hunt Building will open at 8 a.m., when guests will be greeted by local and state office-holders from the two counties. The Program will begin at 9 a.m., with music provided again this year by the Henry Torpedo Boys, welcomed back by popular demand and known for their fun as well as their great musical talent!  In addition to free entertainment lasting until 11 a.m., there will also be free refreshments, with cookies compliments of Oak State Products, and many door prizes donated by local businesses and individuals.
In keeping with this year’s fair theme, “Super Hero-A-Fair,” seniors planning to attend are welcome to put on their favorite super-hero gear!

The morning program is free to all “vintage citizens,” age 65 and over. Seniors are encouraged to come early and stay into the afternoon, to enjoy more events throughout the day and all the displays and activities available to the public throughout the weekend.

The Marshall-Putnam Fair runs from Wednesday, July 13 to Sunday, July 17 at the MP Fairgrounds on Illinois Route 29 in Henry.  See you at the MP Fair – and at Seniors’ Day, Thursday morning, July 14!
