Old Settlers Days just around the corner

The 139th Old Settlers Days in Toulon are just around the corner and this year the OSA committee and the Toulon Civic Association are teaming up to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Toulon!

This year’s calendar of events will run from August 3 to 7, making five days of celebration!

The fun kicks off on Wednesday, August 3 with the gospel sing and then on Thursday, August 4, a special birthday party for Toulon will be held in the park, complete with entertainment.

Friday brings the annual kiddie tractor pull, American Legion fish fry, and the Mini Miss, Little Miss, Junior Miss and Miss Teen OSA pageant. At the conclusion, entertainment in the beer garden will get underway.

For Saturday, the morning will once again start with the Indian Creek 5K Run/Walk and registration is underway for that right now at Indiancreek5krun.com. The flea market and craft show then begins in the courtyard. Registration is free for vendors, simply go online to toulonoldsettlers.com or our Facebook page to download the form.

Saturday mid-day will see the first ever Civic Games, sponsored by the Toulon Civic Association. Activities include an eating contest, clown car competition, beard growing contest, frozen shirt race and more. Stay tuned for details of how to register and win prizes.

The parade will start at 2 p.m. with the kiddie parade at 1:30 p.m. and an emergency expo will follow the parade where local emergency services will showcase their equipment. At 3 p.m. the inflatables and games start in the courtyard and music from Electric Tomato at the R Bar.
