White Elephant Sale to raise money for civic group

The Toulon Civic Association has brought back Toulon’s White Elephant Sale!
The group will host the event, which used to be presented by the fire department, on July 16 and will follow a similar format. That evening the Old Settlers badge honoree will also be announced at 5 p.m. and the sale will follow immediately afterward.

The TCA is looking for your donations now for the sale. Items not accepted include anything that costs money to dispose of, including computers, TVs and tires. Clothing is also not accepted and pianos are just back breakers. Appliances and other corded items need to be working.

Donations are being accepted now, simply call or text 309-669-9509 (Jason) or 309-361-1418 (Val) and let them know what you have and when you’re available for our volunteers to come pick the items up. You may also contact members of the TCA, which are many of the local business owners.

Your spare items might be exactly what someone else is looking for and in the meanwhile you can help the Toulon Civic Association raise money for such things as the 175th celebration of Toulon and beautification projects.
BBQ sandwiches and a meal will be available for sale on July 16 and the OSA pageant contestants will also be on hand for a meet and greet.

The unveiling of the time capsule was originally scheduled for this date, but has been moved to the birthday party celebration on August 4 during Old Settlers.

A reminder, the white elephant sale is being presented by the Civic Association and not the fire department. Please do not call the fire department to schedule a pick-up.
