Bishop Hill seeks parade entries for Old Settlers Day Parade in September

Every five years Bishop Hill celebrates its founding with a parade. This year marks the 170th anniversary of the Bishop Hill Colony and the 120th anniversary of The Bishop Hill Old Settlers Association.
This year’s parade is Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:00 am. The annual Old Settlers Day begins with a parade through Bishop Hill. At 11:30 there is a chicken dinner served at the Colony School on the southwest corner of town.  At 12:15 the Bishop Hill High Society Band will perform at the Gazebo in the town square. The formal program begins at 1:30. The public is welcome to attend.
