Above, Sheriff Steve Sloan, left, congratulates Hannah Rumbold, right, who was recently announced as the recepient of the 2017 Illinois Sheriffs’ Assocation’s $500 scholarship for Stark County. The scholarship application requires applicants to write an essay pertaining to law enfrocement. Hannah’s essay was on heroin overdoses and the benefits of Narcan to save lives. Hannah plans to attend college and study speech and hearing science to become an audiologist. She is an Illinois State Scholar, NHS member, Principal’s honor roll recepient, and accomplished athlete on the court and the track.

Toulon Legion members honored
On Tuesday, April 11, members of Toulon American Legion Post 416 were honored for years of continuous membership. Bin construction in Toulon

Work continues on the new bin at Rumbold & Kuhn’s Toulon elevator. The bin will hold 800,000 bushels when completed and is 100 feet in diameter. Crews were able to get an early start with the warm weather in late winter.
